Great Sunday Bag. Perfect for Hickory Players!
So, I played the bag a couple dozen times, but not all year. I plan to use the bag exclusively next year with my Hickorys. So, the durability will get a solid test next year. No durability issues thus far.
Pros:
Materials are high quality!
Double stitches everywhere! It really feels sturdy! Solid like a duffel bag.
The brass D rings are solid!
Zippers are great, solid and tuff!
The aluminum ring in the opening is legit. Easily get the clubs in and out and supports the club dividers. I use a scissor bag stand and it holds that ring perfectly. The ring also helps roll the bag up for storing it for travel.
The top pocket, tee holders, and one pocket (front) are great on the one side. Big pocket is large enough for carrying balls, a sand bottle, or gloves. I really like that my phone fits in the top pocket.
The overall balance of the bag is good.
Cons:
The carry strap is very awkward. It's hard to adjust with a full set of clubs. The adjustment slide doesn't stay fixed, it slides, all the time. The weight is off with the straps and hook points when full. Either hangs too low or too flat.
The cushion on the strap slides and moves when the bag is carried. Gets a little annoying, constantly fixing the strap.
The strap also digs in to the shoulder.
I added a piece of tubing insulation between the strap and cover. See photo.
The cushion/cover still slides all over the place, but it's very comfortable. I plan on sewing the padding in place.
Maybe a wider strap and stitch some padding underneath. Similar to a rifle sling but wider and padded canvas. I'll keep experimenting and keep you posted.
The pocket opposite side of the bag is too small. It needs to extend 6 or 8 more inches.
It's the same size as the front. It would be nice to carry rain gear, vest, gloves, ie... big stuff. It would help with weighing the bottom of the bag.
The other, front, pocket is perfect for balls and such.
All that said,
I love it. The only real issue is the carry strap. It doesn't stay adjusted, the cover/cushion slides all over, and it's very uncomfortable on the shoulder. Fix the strap and make that pocket 2x as big.
Perhaps some snap straps for an umbrella on the side.
So just an update on the bag.
It's been about a year of playing with the bag.
It's holding up great. I've played well over a hundred rounds with it. No issues and zero wear and tear failures. It's been a really strong and quality piece of equipment.
Just an update to your quality and manufacturing, it's legit!
